Syed is a fifth-year Ph.D. student working with Professor Alex Vespignani in the MOBS lab, working on epidemiology using metapopulation model (GLEAM). Currently, he is working towards post-epidemic understanding of how Zika virus spreads over the Americas using the prediction from GLEAM, surveillance data, and genomic inferences. He is also interested in the social contagion and flocking behavior in science. Before joining the MOBS lab, he obtained his M.S. in Computer Science from United International University, Bangladesh and B.B.A. in Finance from IBA, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh.
