Alexi (he/him) is a fourth-year PhD student working with Dr. David Lazer. He is interested in Computational Social Science, Social Networks, and Harm Reduction approaches to substance use. Currently, he is part of the COVID States Project, studying the impact of the pandemic on social support and working on validating the project’s methodology. In addition, he studies homophily in Twitter follower networks and the spread of fentanyl misinformation (with the Health in Justice Action Lab). Alexi also participates in the COALESCE lab, where he investigates social cohesion through the lens of acquaintanceship networks. He received his bachelor degree in Mathematics from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), and his bachelor degree in Sociology from the University of Barcelona (UB). Before joining Northeastern he worked for two years in the private sector as a data scientist.
