Ata is a computer scientist and a 6th year Ph.D. student in network science working with David Lazer, studying the societal impacts of artificial intelligence and social networks. His research combines large-scale data analysis, surveys, and generative agent modeling to understand technology adoption and online behavior. He has published in JAMA Network Open, Nature Human Behavior, Neuropsychopharmacology, and is currently a researcher in the CHIP50 project, with his work featured in outlets such as The New York Times and The Washington Post. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a double major in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at Koç University with a full scholarship. Previously, he led the IT governance and cybersecurity team for a global airline for two years and provided consulting and auditing for IT projects in terms of cybersecurity, privacy, and regulation compliance.
