Claire (Zhihan) (she/her) is a PhD student in Network Science at Northeastern University, co-advised by Professor David Lazer and Professor Christo Wilson. Her research lies at the intersection of algorithmic systems and human cognition, with particular interest in online polarization and the policy implications of algorithm design.

Before her doctoral studies, Claire earned both her bachelor's degree in Cognitive Science, with a specialization in Machine Learning and Neural Computation, and her master's degree in Data Science, from UC San Diego, where she worked with Professor David Danks on how personalization might impact political polarization.
