NetSI PhD Students Zhen Guo, Ankit Ramakrishnan, and Luca Santagata took part in the NetSci Educational Video Competition, which encourages complex systems scientists to present intriguing network science concepts through short video clips. The competition helps build a growing repository of educational materials that increase the visibility of network science beyond its traditional boundaries.

The video Spaghetti, Meatballs, and Blackouts: a Tasty Lesson in Network Science, took home the 2nd prize at this year's competition. Produced by Ankit Ramakrishnan and Luca Santagata, the video explains why some networked systems withstand random failures but collapse under targeted attacks. In an entertaining way the video shows why resilience matters, from pasta plates to power grids.

Another example of how to make a complex topic as network science approachable is Zhen Guo's video The Power of Network, that sheds light on why organizations often fail.
