The Network Science Institute is proud to announce the opening of the SPAN Lab, led by Prof. István Kiss, at the the NetSI London hub.
SPAN (Systems, Processes and Networks) Lab investigates how contagion spreads through complex networks, whether biological, social, or technological. With tools from graph theory, stochastic processes, dynamical systems, and statistical inference, the SPAN Lab team explores how structure drives dynamics.
Some of the current projects István Kiss, José Andrés Guzmán Morán, Kevin Teo, and Marko Lalovic are working on include integrating behavior into epidemic models, the mathematical foundations of higher-order contagion models and inference, the temporal dimension of networks, and several applications in healthcare.
