The British chapter of the Network Science Society (NetSci) was founded in 2023 with a mission firmly rooted in the unification of UK-based researchers who share interest in the world of networks. The goal is to foster a vibrant, cohesive, and all-encompassing community that thrives on diversity and inclusivity.

In May 2024, the Internet Democracy Initiative will host an Internet and Society Conference at the Northeastern University-London campus. Like the IDI, the conference will focus on the role of the internet in structuring democracy, society, and markets with emphasis on areas that have widespread information and social media implications.

Networks and Time II is a day-long meeting to be held in Northeastern University London (Central London). The meeting is about aspects of complex networks where time is a factor.

We'll be hosting a hybrid panel of NetSI PhD program alumni who are working in industry; panelists will tell current PhD students about their experiences transitioning to and working in industry, with opportunity for Q&A. Food will be provided.

This workshop provides participants with a comprehensive understanding of generative models, their applications, and the practical skills necessary to create and utilize generative AI systems effectively. Learn how GenAI can help advance your research and improve lab processes (e.g, automate complex tasks and discover valuable insights).

During this panel discussion, we will explore the impact that initiatives such as the COVID-19 and Influenza Scenario Modeling Hubs and related efforts had and are having on shaping public health response. This session will feature panelists from CDC, ACIP, public health departments, and hospital networks.

How shall we manage the future? Thinking the Future is a series of fireside chats intended to engage interdisciplinary problem-solvers across the global university system in a conversation around effectively managing the impact of a series of challenges facing our world in the 21st Century. By holding these conversations, we can use our strengths as a university to begin imagining solutions together and ways to apply them.

Join us at the Network Science Institute (NetSI) on May 17, 2023 for a celebration of the NetSI Research Co-op Program.

This workshop helps build the necessary skills to navigate small talk in networking situations with ease and confidence. STEM graduate students will learn how to start conversations and how to build rapport with potential colleagues and collaborators.
