Samuel Scarpino is currently Managing Director for Pathogen Surveillance at the Rockefeller Foundation. He was previously an Assistant Professor of Marine & Environmental Sciences and Physics in the College of Science at Northeastern. Broadly, Sam is a complex systems scientist investigating questions at the intersection of network science and human behavior, whose work spans a broad range of topics, including: infectious disease modeling, forecasting in complex systems, genetic topology of disease, and decision making under uncertainty.
