The Networked Justice satellite will provide a forum for network scientists to convene and discuss the ways that networks intersect with issues of social equity, inclusivity, and justice, and how networks can be used to promote just outcomes for marginalized populations.

Hosted by NULab for Texts, Maps, and Networks, the panel will feature: David Lazer (Northeastern University), Andrea Parker (Georgia Institute of Technology), Jacqueline Wernimont (Dartmouth College), and Alessandro Vespignani (Northeastern University) speaking about their multidisciplinary research into COVID-19 and its impacts.

A two day-long satellite of the NetSci 2020 conference dedicated to diversity in Network Science.

NetSI, in conjunction with DK-Lab and NSF, is sponsoring the Fifth Workshop on Critical and Collective Effects in Graphs and Networks (CCEGN-V). The workshop aims at facilitating the transfer of ideas, insights and interdisciplinary approaches to tackle new and exciting problems in random graph theory and its applications to real networks.

The Computation + Journalism Symposium is a celebration and synthesis of new ways to find and tell news stories with, by, and about data and algorithms. It is a venue to seed new collaborations between journalists and computer and data scientists: a bazaar for the exchange of ideas between industry/practice and academia/research. This year, it will be hosted by Northeastern University in Boston on March 20-21, Friday-Saturday.

Alex Vespignani and the MOBS Lab team (Matteo Chinazzi, Ana Pastore y Piontti, Jessica Davis, & Kunpeng Mu) have agreed to give provide an update on the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, as well as some insights about what their projections are revealing, and to describe their communication/coordination with policy makers.

The Network Science Research Symposium is an event led predominantly by graduate students that showcases the diverse research at NetSI, creates a platform to receive feedback, and initiate future collaborations.

The Collabathon is a three-day event at the Network Science Institute. The primary goal for this project is to expand the culture of tinkering and collaboration at NetSI, while at the same time producing high impact research. We will be learning from one another constantly during the event, which perfectly highlights the unique nature of NetSI.
